Node Operation

Node Operation
While developing Stereum, we gained vast experience in the field of node operation for Ethereum as well. With its growing significance, we made node operation a new RockLogic business field in the beginning of 2024. We offer node operation as a service to those who want to participate in Ethereum, but do not want to operate a network node on their own hardware. Additionally, we also cooperate with other pool node operators, e.g. Lido, for whom we add special functions to Stereum and operate nodes for their pool. These activities represent our dedication to decentralized finance (DeFi), infrastructure development, and Web3 technologies, further extending our expertise beyond traditional software development.

Our VISION: Reliably functioning decentralized blockchains Our MISSION: We are the most diversified node operator

About Node Operation on Blockchains

Node operation is a critical aspect of blockchain networks, as nodes are responsible for maintaining the network's integrity, validating transactions, and supporting the decentralized architecture that characterizes blockchain technology. Nodes are the backbone of any blockchain, ensuring that the network remains secure and that consensus mechanisms function effectively.

RockLogic’s Involvement in Node Operation

By running validator nodes, RockLogic contributes to the network's security and decentralization. As Ethereum validators, we help to ensure that the network remains reliable and that transactions are processed efficiently, contributing to the blockchain's growth and stability. This activity requires a deep understanding of the technology and commitment to maintaining the hardware and software infrastructure that keeps these nodes running optimally. For software, we use our proven open source tool Stereum for easy access to Ethereum. And for the hardware infrastructure we benefit from our decade-long experience of building our own data center in Austria, which is audited and is being enhanced to grow with our customers’ needs.

Lido: A Key Component in Liquid Staking

Lido is one of the most prominent decentralized staking protocols that allows users to participate in PoS networks without locking up their assets. Traditionally, staking involves locking assets for a specified period, which can limit liquidity and flexibility for participants. Lido addresses this by offering liquid staking, where users can stake their assets while still being able to use them in other DeFi applications.

RockLogic's Partnership With Lido

RockLogic has played an active role in the Lido ecosystem by operating validator nodes that help facilitate the liquid staking process. As a node operator within the Lido network, RockLogic is responsible for validating transactions, securing the network, and generating staking rewards that are distributed to Lido users.

Business and Strategic Impact

From a business perspective, RockLogic's involvement in node operation and Lido liquid staking opens up new revenue streams through staking rewards. By running validator nodes, our company earns rewards for its participation in network consensus, which can be a lucrative source of income, especially as more networks adopt PoS models. Moreover, RockLogic’s activities with Lido position us as a thought leader and innovator in the Web3 space. This involvement allows us to build relationships within the DeFi ecosystem, engage with other stakeholders in the blockchain community, and stay at the forefront of technological advancements in decentralized finance.

The Future

As the blockchain ecosystem continues to evolve, RockLogic is well-positioned to expand our role in node operation and liquid staking. The increasing adoption of PoS networks and the growing popularity of liquid staking solutions present significant opportunities for us to increase our footprint in the industry. RockLogic may also explore new staking networks and diversify our node operation activities across various blockchain protocols, further strengthening our position as a leading provider of blockchain infrastructure services.
