By bundling the further development of Stereum and the software as a service offering StereumPlus in the legally independent Stereum Services FlexCo, the course has been set for further growth. In addition to IT infrastructure, RockLogic will concentrate on node operation for large institutional customers, and we are already working intensively on other business areas in the field of blockchain - a technology with a cornucopia of possibilities that offer a great future.

The Future

After several years of experience in large companies, it was time for Stefan Kobrc to combine his profound IT knowledge into his own company, and so in 2012 he founded RockLogic GmbH with like-minded people. Infrastructure maintenance - still a key pillar of RockLogic today as IT Infrastructure - as well as the creation of websites and IT project consulting were a solid business model that provided the basis for what was to come.

Foundation

Driven by the desire to develop a saleable product or service, the open source software Stereum was created, which, through its graphical user interface (GUI), opened Ethereum up to a wider group of users and thus promotes one of the essential basic principles of blockchain: decentralization. The success of Stereum was overwhelming. From 2020, this node setup client software developed into a highly popular tool in the Ethereum community, which brought RockLogic an excellent international reputation and many valuable partnerships.

Stereum as a Growth Engine

The new and exciting technology "blockchain", first made known by Bitcoin, promised to become a fascinating challenge from 2015 with the introduction of Ethereum. Stefan Kobrc began developing a Docker Composer, the forerunner of Stereum, to make Ethereum's service offering easier to use.

In the years from 2020 to 2024, the company grew from a small business to a medium-sized IT service provider with over 25 employees, and the next stage of development was launched: the founding of Stereum Services FlexCo, in which StereumPlus, an outstanding service model for the operation of Ethereum network nodes, was created and put into operation October 2024.

Ethereum ist die größte Smart Contract-Blockchain der Welt, ein dezentralisiertes, erlaubnisloses Netzwerk. Neben Überweisungen der eigenen Währung (Ether, ETH), bietet Ethereum das Ausführen von automatisierten Verträgen (Smart Contracts). Diese ermöglichen die Erstellung von sog. Decentralized Applications, zu deren Anwendungen zB. ein dezentrales Finanzwesen gehört. Alle Teilnehmer nutzen mit Ethereum eine gemeinsame Datenbasis.

While developing Stereum, we gained vast experience in the field of node operation for Ethereum as well. With its growing significance, we made node operation a new RockLogic business field in the beginning of 2024. We offer node operation as a service to those who want to participate in Ethereum, but do not want to operate a network node on their own hardware. Additionally, we also cooperate with other pool node operators, e.g. Lido, for whom we add special functions to Stereum and operate nodes for their pool.
